Dear Members: My name is Ginger Matthews and I am developing a series of interactive CD-ROM titles on the most frequently assigned classic books in junior High school, high school and college. This series is intended to be very straight forward and, unlike some other multimedia titles, requires a great deal of thinking on the part of the student. Understandably, the junior high school level will be more graphic and interactive, but I refuse to let it be a game, or make studying too easy. These titles are designed to be challenging. By far, the most frequently purchased Cliff's Notes is the one for Huckleberry Finn. Hence, I'm developing this title first. Hence, I am addressing you for help. Here's my dilemma. I have many bibliographic sources for the text, thereby making the writing of book and chapter summaries relatively easy. I would, however, appreciate any input from you about this process. But these titles are meant to illuminate the student about the author in the best way possible. Much of my intent is to acquire authentic documents, recordings and video to facilitate a more interactive and in-depth learning process. My real need is one of alternative sources of information. Here's what I already have on hand: 1. clips from Huckleberry Finn movies. all four of them 2. recording of Mark Twain Tonight by Hal Holbrook 3. Many of the already used and recognized photographs of Mark Twain What I need from you is: 1. Ideas on where to research for any and all media on Mark Twain. i.e. unusual books, archives, etc. 2. Titles and names of sources: video, audio and photographic 3. Ideas on how to reach junior high, high school and college students in the best way possible. 4. Any ideas at all. A list of the titles to follow Huckleberry Finn Notes, as follows: The Scarlett Letter Hamlet Macbeth Paradise Lost Othello Romeo and Juliet Brave New World Death of a Salesman Great Expectations Great Gatsby Lord of the Flies Moby Dick The Prince Tale of Two Cities To Kill a Mockingbird Wuthering Heights I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, sincerely Ginger Matthews
