Could it be possible that the negative aspects of instances of people in
bunches in Huck Finn be correlated to the positive aspects of the
sigularity of development of Huck as a person? Could Twain be somehow
saying that the Mob mindlessness, the lack of individual responsibility,
the human unwillingness to form new ideas but substitute the easier to
obtain, ideas somewhat forced on them are all aspects that are dissonant
with the development of a character into a truely human character? Does
it seem like Huck develops as a human being into something that is better
by the end of the book? The developing characterization of Huck through a
hunt and peck method of testing out certain possibilities. Like the
"sivilizing" efforts of Miss Watson and the Widow Douglas...
