Approximately 30 persons attended the sessions, which focused on curriculum issues, human resource development, training programs and evaluation. Contacts for future collaboration were made with many participants, including Dr. Enrico Pupulin, Head, Rehabilitation Unit. WHO, who sponsored the event. An important point raised at the meeting was the need for separate approaches in training managers and front- line workers. The role of university based education was also discussed. A second meeting may be held in the future and is to be located in a developing country. The major emphasis of the newsletter is on articles related to policy development, concept clarification, development of methodology in areas of service delivery, training of manpower and program evaluation, and development of technology related to rehabilitation. Other information related to rehabilitation of persons with disabilities that may be of use to funding organizations and implementing agencies is also welcome. Articles sent to ACTIONAID will be published subject to their suitability and may also be published elsewhere if so desired.
