The theme of the event is "NOMMO (the generative power of sound/word) IN AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURE AND POLITICS." The conference is intended to promote discussion and dialogue on issues related to African American Studies and Afrocentric education and scholarship. Proposals for entire sessions are welcome, as are proposals for alternative formats, from panel discussions and roundtables to readings and performances.
