The presentations will be problem oriented. Advances in understanding of new etiologic agents, pathophysiology and treatment will be highlighted. The faculty will be drawn from McGill University, University of Toronto and McMaster University specialists in tropical medicine and clinical parasitology with the addition of Dr. Frank Bia from Yale University and Dr. Edemariam Tsega, past Dean of Medicine, Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. An all-day hands-on laboratory programme is offered on Wednesday, May 22, 1996. This session will highlight microscopy and staining of malaria, intestinal protozoa and helminths.
