The Mark Twain Forum needs a reviewer for the following book: Haupt, Clyde V. _Huckleberry Finn on Film: Film and Television Adaptations of Mark Twain's Novel, 1920-1993_. Jefferson, NC, and London: McFarland and Company, 1994. Pp. xi + 187. Includes bibliography and index. Cloth, 6-1/4" x 9-1/4". $35.00. ISBN 0-89950-920-7. The publisher's blurb states: Since 1920 there have been 11 film or television versions of _Huckleberry Finn_, some true to Mark Twain's story, most loosely constructed around the classic work without being faithful to it. Provided here are production histories, plot summaries, and contemporary reviews for each of the adaptations. Clyde V. Haupt is a professor of English at Erie Community College in Buffalo. As usual, the review must be of publishable quality, and it would be due within two months of your receipt of the book (i.e., late-May 1996). The deadline is particularly important, as we are making every effort for Forum reviews to appear before print reviews. If you are inclined to procrastinate, please don't offer to review the book. If you're interested in writing this review, please send me both your home and institutional mailing addresses and phone numbers. If I don't already know you, it would be helpful for you to explain in what respect you're qualified to write this review. (If we haven't exchanged e-mail recently, it might be a good idea for you to remind me of this info.) I look forward to hearing from you!
