An article entitled, "Twain on the Grand Tour," by Gore Vidal,
appears in the May 23, 1996 issue of _The New York Review_.
The article will serve as Vidal's preface to _Following the
Equator and Anti-Imperialist Essays_ (including "To the Person
Sitting in Darkness" and "King Leopold's Soliloquy",) which
will appear as one of the volumes of The Oxford Mark Twain,
edited by Shelley Fisher Fishkin, and to be published later
this year by Oxford University Press.
