As part of the International Symposium on the Effectiveness of Health Promotion being held at the University of Toronto, Toronto Canada, June 17 - June 19th, there is an open public forum with the topic: "Is Health Promotion A Good Investment?" The forum is Monday June 17th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the JJR MacLeod Auditorium, Medical Sciences Building Room 2158, University of Toronto Panel Members include: Joan Feather - Department of Community Health, University of Saskatchewan Canada Nancy Kotani - Canadian Public Health Association Richard Parish - School of Health & Community Studies, Sheffield Hallam University, England John Raeburn - Department of Behavioural Science, University of Auckland, New Zealand Panel Moderator: Lisa Priest, Health Policy Reporter, Toronto Star For those who cannot attend, I will try to post a summary of the nature of the discussion afterwards. As well, I am hoping to put together some notes from this week's 4th Canadian Conference on Health Promotion Research in Montreal on the theme of: La Promotion de la Sante et la Sante des Populations: Au Confluent des Visions / Health Promotion and Population Health: a Meeting of Ideals. I would appreciate it if anyone else who attended that conference could also post their impressions and learnings. We had the opportunity to see Michel O'Neill's paper posted in this list-serv (and in Health Promotion list-serv) in advance of this conference. There are more activities, conferences, workshops and forums (fora?) coming up in the next few weeks that could be discussed here in CLICK4HP; along with the topics posed by Peggy Schultz and Liz Rykert. I'm looking forward to some active postings over the next month! Alison Stirling [log in to unmask]
