The Regional Public Health Department, a Teaching Health Unit affiliated with McMaster University and the University of Guelph, is recruiting for a position for the Healthy Lifestyles Branch. A Tobacco Use Prevention Promoter is needed to plan, develop, implement and evaluate tobacco use prevention programs. Applicants with a Master's Degree in Health Science, Health Promotion, or related area; sound knowledge of tobacco prevention, behaviour change theory, policy analysis and development; with demonstrated competence in program planning and evaluation, health promotion strategies, community mobilization, and written, verbal, and mass media communication will be preferred. Candidates with a baccalaurate degree in health or applied science with two years experience in health promotion, community mobilization, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and strong research and analytical skills will also be considered.
