                Mellon Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship 
                Available in Science & Technology Studies 
                                1997-1998 
 
A Mellon Foundation postdoctoral teaching-research fellowship is available 
in the Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University. 
While in residence at Cornell, postdoctoral fellows hold department 
affiliation, and have limited teaching duties and the opportunity for 
scholarly work.  Applicants are encouraged from any of the four component 
fields of Science and Technology Studies:  sociology of science and 
technology;  history of science and technology; philosophy of science and 
technology; politics and policy of science and technology. 
 
The postdoctoral teaching-research fellowship will begin July 1, 1997 and 
offers a stipend of $28,000.  Applicants must have received the Ph.D. 
degree after September 1991.  Applicants who will receive the Ph.D. degree 
by June 30, 1997 are eligible to apply.  Fellowships are limited to 
citizens of the United States, Canada, or those with permanent U.S.
