ANNUAL HISTORY OF ECONOMIC THOUGHT CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 4 - SEPTEMBER 6 1996 UNIVERSITY OF DURHAM The conference will be held at Hatfield College, The University of Durham (UK) from Wednesday, September 4 to Friday, September 6 1996. The College is situated just off Palace Green and adjacent to the Norman Cathedral. Durham is easily accessible by rail, road and air. The region is well served by the main East Coast railway (those coming from London will find a frequent and fast service from Kings Cross); by air it is marginally easier to use Newcastle Airport rather than Teesside Airport (since the former has an excellent Metro rail connection to Newcastle Central Station and then on - a further 20 minutes - to Durham); by road it is advisable to use the A1(M) and follow the Durham signs. Papers will be delivered by, amongst others, David Laidler (title to be announced) Roger Backhouse (The Internationalisation of Economics - Three Times Over) Michel Vroey (Involuntary Unemployment, From Keynes to the New Keynesians) Alec Gee (James Anderson, Development Economist - A Cautionary Tale) Alan Hutton et al. (The Scottish Political Economy Tradition and Economics in 20th Century Scotland) Bernard Corry (title to be announced) Gilles Dostaler (Keynes' Early Economic Thought).
