CCIP is currently looking for a sponsor for one of five Cuban internships that are to take place this Fall. Cuban NGOs participating in CCIP have requested a placement with a Canadian NGO that works with disabled people. The individual concerned would be in Canada for approximately one month, most likely from mid-October to mid-November. CCIP will pay airfares plus a $500 honorarium for the Cuban intern. What is needed is a Canadian sponsor organization, which would take on the organization of the internship, financing of all local costs, plus arrange for billeting. The organization should be willing to arrange for someone to accompany and guide the intern. The Cuban individual will be selected by the Cuban steering committee of CCIP on the basis of language requirements, ability to be away for a lengthy period from the home institution, and ability to share knowledge acquired upon return to Cuba. CCIP needs to arrange the internships in early September.
