Award: The award is a travel fellowship, which is usually used to support work with an MSH international public health project for at least two months. Awards are sometimes given to individuals who have developed independent plans. Eligibility: Applicants must have received a graduate degree within the past two years, or be expecting to receive a graduate degree within two years after the award travel. Timeline: The deadline for receipt of completed applications is December 30, for the award to be made for the following year. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of village life and to promote the development of productivity and social prosperity in poor ethnic minority counties in Yunnan Province. Based in Kunming and Lijiang, you will prepare core groups of provincial and county trainers to design, implement and evaluate community-based educational programming and use participatory, experiential teaching methods with maternal and child health grassroots workers. Basic requirements: you are a health professional with a master’s or doctoral degree and at least ten years of community experience in maternal and child health care; you have experience in primary health care program design and delivery with populations in third-world countries or in remote underserved areas; you have excellent leadership and administrative skills including curriculum design, implementation and evaluation, and are familiar with experiential and participatory teaching methodologies; you demonstrate strong English communication skills (oral and written) and a good working knowledge of spoken and written Mandarin Chinese.
