The theme of the event is "SANKOFA (Knowing the Past, Living the Present, Building the Future): AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES IN THE CONTINUUM AND THE NEXT MILLENNIUM." The conference is intended to promote discussion and dialogue on issues related to African American Studies and African Centered education and scholarship. Proposals for entire sessions are welcome, as are proposals for alternative formats, from panel discussions and roundtables to readings and performances.
