The claymation film left me a little perplexed. I was pleased to see a popular representation of Twain that didn't try to erase his philosophical skepticism. However, having been raised in the Gumby era, I found the medium to be inappropriate to the material. As for other representations of Twain on film, the fairly recent film _MArk Twain and Me_ is a pretty good portrayal of the later life. It's a little maudlin at times, but Jason Robards is quite persuasive as Clemens. --Larry Howe <[log in to unmask]>
