I had the pleasure of attending a NEH seminar conducted by Jim Wilson and
count it among the most pleasant experiences of my life. Jim's knowledge
as a Twain scholar and skills as a teacher were magnified by his warm
human qualities. His is a great loss and I am only sorry that the reports
of his death are not greatly exaggerated.
