This sounds like the Author's National Edition which came in green and red
bindings. I have two of the green and two of the red. The nice part about
one of the grren sets is that it is in the original shipping crate from
Harper's and was sent to a Mr. Wordsworth in Devon, Connecticut.

As to price, the yellowing of the pages is to be expected, but watch out for
actual brittleness and check to make sure the signatures and bindings are
intact. Taking the time to go through each volume is well worth your
investment.

Good luck.
