Wanted: Synthesis Papers on Gender and Health The Atlantic Health Promotion Research Centre (AHPRC), the McMaster Research Centre for the Promotion of Women's Health (MRCPWH) and the National Health Research Development Program (NHRDP) invite the submission of short (2 page) proposals for synthesis papers on gender and health. Synthesis papers are intended to summarize the current state of research, programming and policy on gender and health in Canada. The topics for the synthesis papers include: 1. Women's health and evidence-based research 2. Social change, women's health and policy development 3. Gender's inter-relationship with other determinants of health 4. Gender and healthy child development One proposal for each theme will be selected for development into a 20 page synthesis paper to be presented at the Fifth National Health Promotion Research Conference. The conference theme is "Gender and Health: From Research to Policy". It will be held at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 4-5, 1997. A payment of $3,500 will be available for each proposal selected for further development.
