==================== HES POSTING ========================

[NOTE: Because there seems to be some interest in discussing the
transition from political economy to economics, and some participants may
not identify that thread from the original heading, I am now instituting a
new subject header for this thread, as above. For the original message
that started this thread, see Roy Davidson's message of 11 April, bearing
the subject line "Re: HES: WWW -- Neoclassical/Henry George bibliography".

Roy Davidson suggests that it would be interesting to analyze the
transition from
"political economy" to "economics". Such has been done. In the late 1980s
Ann
Mari May presented a paper on this theme. so did Rod Peterson. I don't
know if
either was published. There's also a book on Marshall and the
"professionalization"
of economics--the author of which eludes me at the end of a VERY long week.
 I
can however locate additional information if anyone is interested.
