====================== HES POSTING ====================

As many HET texts accept the evolution of economic throught as either
desirable or inevitable, it is desirable to have something with a
critical edge on any HET reading list. There aren't too many such
animals. One that springs to mind is Guy Routh's The Origin of
Economic Ideas, Macmillan, 2nd edn 1989.

Another book which attacks the (differentiated) conventional wisdom
on a variety of subjects is
T W Hutchison, The Politics and Philosophy of Economics, Blckwell
1981

Evan Jones
Economics, Sydney University
