===================== HES POSTING =================== [NOTE: The message is forwarded from HOPOS-L because I thought someone on HES might be able to help the questioner. I'm curious to know whether anyone is currently working on this. It seems that there was considerable interest in the debate in the late 80s and the first couple years of the 90s, culminating in Fisch and Schaffer's 1991 collection on Whewell. If anyone is currently doing anything related to Mill's and/or Whewell's views on method, I'd be interested to hear about it. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Kent W.
