===================== HES POSTING ===================

I have a PhD student who wants to examine the changing
conceptualisation of poverty in Germany in the 19th Century, perhaps
comparing with Great Britain. The latter is perhaps 'over' researched,
but I have no specialist knowledge of the former. His work is informed
both by history of thought and by economic and social history
considerations.

I would be grateful for any references on poverty and its
conceptualisation in Germany (written either in German or in English)
that list members could provide.

Thank you.
