The following reply to Eberhard Wensel's message of 8/2/97 was not successfully posted on CLICK4HP, nor was it sent to Kate Lawrence, whose letter E. Wenzel had forwarded a copy of to the list. There seems to have been two problems with this message: 1. The author of the reply may have thought that he was 'replying to' Ms. Lawrence as it appeared that her name was in the 'From field' - however it was a message posted on the discussion list of more than 400 subscribers, not a direct note from Kate Lawrence. To directly contact someone who posts (or in this case, was quoted by a third party) please use their personal e-mail address and not the general CLICK4HP address. It is very easy to use the "Reply" key without checking the address to which a message is going. 2. As well, this message contained too many copies of other messages with several 'headers' from previous messages. Please try to edit out the text of messages that you are replying to, particularly the "To", "From" and Subject lines. It is confusing to the list-server computer trying to determine the address. Messages will get through more successfully, and readers will appreciate shorter, more succinct comments! One last comment - please be considerate about re-posting other people's direct/personal e-mails. Contact them first to ask and/or notify them that you wish to copy their letter to a large list. They may have had a reason to contact you directly, rather than to post to the list. Thanks and keep those messages coming...
