===================== HES POSTING ==================== *** Forwarded by Esther-Mirjam Sent for Loes van Dijk <[log in to unmask]>. The posting on 10/16 only contained the addition to and not the complete schedule of the seminar. *** Erasmus Seminar in Philosophy and Economics This is a REVISED Autumn 1997 programme of the Erasmus Seminar in Philosophy and Economics. One session has been added: Abu Rizvi will give a paper on the evolution of evolutionary game theory on the 17th of December. The paper considers the emergence and rising popularity of evolutionary game theory in economics (the upsurge beginning around 1990). The paper asks why it has become popular, how this is related to problems with rational-choice game theory (hence the title). It also considers what Rizvi feels are the strenghts and weaknesses of this approach.
