======================= HES POSTING ==================== [Forwarded from H-AHC -- Paul Wendt] Subject: Electronic primary sources Date: Thu, 23 Oct 1997 From: Matthew Hershey <[log in to unmask]> Dear Listmembers: Scholarly Resources is currently collaborating with Accessible Archives to develop full-text, fully searchable electronic databases of primary sources, similar to the Accessible Archives titles _The Pennsylvania Gazette_, _The Civil War: A Newspaper Perspective_, and _African-American Newspapers: The 19th Century_. We need your assistance in identifying 18th or 19th-century serials to convert to an electronic format. If you had your wish, what titles would you recommend? What would you or your colleagues use? What would your students use? Would you prefer CD-ROM or online format? If you can think of any titles that would be immensely valuable in an electronic format, this is your opportunity to offer suggestions. In addition, it would be helpful if you could also provide details about where the hardcopy is held and the names of any contact persons. Please respond privately to [log in to unmask] Thanks in advance for your input. Matthew R.
