In a sketch titled "Novel Entertainment" contributed to the
Chicago "Republican" during the spring/summer of 1868, (reprinted
by Cyril Clemens in _Republican Letters_, 1941) Twain described the
execution of John Melanie (John Millian) as the first hanging he had
ever witnessed -- April 1868.

Are there any other known Twain writings related to the individuals
involved in this murder case (both would have been living in
Virginia City at the time Twain originally lived there) :

Julie Bulette - the murdered Virginia City madam or
Charles DeLong - Millian's defense attorney.
