Dear Twain Friends; I am happy, by the way, to be FINALLY back on the Twain List, after a somewhat lengthy interruption for reasons of no interest to almost anyone alive. I will say this: I am now installed here at St. Louis University, in what appears to be a long-term situation, so hurray for that. I have a number of questions I would like to sow out onto the LIST over the next several months, but here's one for starters: Which film adaptations of Twain works do LIST members find to be the best/ most faithful/ most authentic to the spirit of Mark Twain? (yes, it is vague and subjective -- but I would still like to know!) Hal Bush Saint Louis University
