Dear Mr. Masschaele, I forwarded your request some time ago to the Mayor of Halton Hills. I received no acknowledgement so I just sent another note to her. Just thought I'd let you know that I have forwarded your request. I am archvist of the Esquesing Historical Society Archives in Georgetown. Many names, but for your information, Esquesing township ended up with three corporations: Esquesing, Acton and Georgetown. In 1974 they were amalgamated into the Town of Halton Hills. The Town hired an archivist for one summer to sort out their records just before the Freedom of infor act came into effect. They do hold records in the Civic Centre which are not very accessible and are separate from the EHS Archives. J. Mark Rowe, Archivist. -----Original Message----- From: Brian Masschaele <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] <[log in to unmask]> Date: November 12, 1998 10:38 AM Subject: records retention by-laws Dear municipal colleagues: I would like to acquire copies of records retention by-laws, particularly if these have been crafted with archival input. Such samples are of extreme value to me. I'd also be interested in acquiring examples of municipal mandate and policy statements. Thanks in advance!
