================= HES POSTING =================

I have received a request from a researcher at Princeton University
(working on notions of popular social science) for a list of the most
important/influential U.S. economists of this century--as well as a
rationale for choosing them. For example, their influence might be
measured by their impact on public policy, on popular ideas about the
economy, or on political institutions.

I thought subscribers to HES might enjoy constructing and debating such a
list!

The researcher gave her permission to post this request, and I will pass
all entries on to her.
