Chapter 26 of THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF MARK TWAIN -- the version edited by
Charles Neider contains a couple of bowling related stories.  The
chapter begins with the quote "The proverb says that Providence protects
children and idiots.  This is really true.  I know it because I have
tested it."  Twain discusses bowling hijinks in San Francisco
and years later at Bateman's Point near Newport, Rhode Island.
