Some conceptual models for electronic records programs will be explored, along with an overview of the record-creating characteristics of information systems. As well, the workshop will examine how preservation, media, and migration issues are affected by the electronic records program models. Other topics will include: strategies for managing records such as email and word-processed documents; conducting an inventory of a large database - a case study; strategies to preserve websites at the University of Toronto; and scanning and digitizing records.
