He never could get an unequivocal answer from Keyserling, and Truman's lament came in response to a question from the press about his view on a topic in economic policy, which I don't recall. His lament was that Keyserling always gave him answers "on the one hand, and on the other hand." He wished he could get advice from a "one-handed" economist.
