----------------- HES POSTING ----------------- Economies in the Age of Newton Neil De Marchi and Margaret Schabas, eds. Call for Proposals We invite proposals of articles that link political economy to natural philosophy and medicine in the period c.1650-1750. We positively encourage topics that range across disciplines and/or over several figures. The resulting set will be presented at a conference to be held at Duke University in April 2002. The jounal History of Political Economy will cover accommodation expenses at the conference, and is able to offer up to $500 for travel costs. Papers passing a final review will appear in a volume to be published as a special supplement to that journal, by Duke University Press. If you are interested in contributing an article, please send us an abstract (1000 words) together with a letter of intent by February 1, 2000.
