Dear colleagues,
I have been approached by an academic researcher who is looking for archives
collections to support his research on ring-bill gulls (Larus delawarensis)
and herring gulls (Larus argentatus) in the Great Lakes Region. He is
interested
in any materials from the 1880s to the present, with particular attention
to colony sites and numbers of pairing birds. Herring gulls are normally
resident
in the Great Lakes Region, while ring-bill gulls are invaders. He is also
interested in the patterns of settlement of these invaders from their
original home in the northeastern U.S.
Where might I direct him for the best use of his time? Any suggestions
will be
appreciated.
Lynne
