AAO Workshop times: Survey

The AAO's Professional Development Committee is aiming to deliver workshops when
they are best suited within the availability of the archival community.

Therefore, before the release of the upcoming Workshop Schedule for 2000-2001,
we wish to gauge when workshop participants would most likely be available.

Therefore, please take 5 minutes to complete the following six (6) questions.

On your response sheet, simply assign your answers to the corresponding question
number. Send back a separate form or paste into the body of your e-mail
message. Please forward your answers to the Chair of the PDC or to your local PD
representative. While the final due date is the end of March, please try and
have your answers back by February 18th, as the PDC is meeting at that time.
Thank you for your participation.

This is a very quick, and informal survey. The PDC simply wishes generate
results prior to its next Committee meeting February 19, 2000. Moreover, one
does not need to respond right away. One can consult Off-The-Record for a list
of these questions, and further details pertaining to deadline information.

Questions:

1. Are workshops convenient if scheduled over Saturday and Sunday or
Friday/Saturday?

2. Would you prefer workshops scheduled over 2 Saturdays? (Session 1 on Week 1
(Sat), Session 2 on Week 2 (next Sat.)) - this question does not apply for
workshops staged in the NOAA chapter.

3. Are the hours 9am-4pm convenient? Would you consider a longer day on Saturday
to be able to get away by noon Sunday?

4. Would you prefer a one and a half day workshop with an assignment due a few
weeks later, rather than 2 full days of workshops?

5. Would you consider meeting in the evening (break at 4pm, dinner on own or
supplied, get together at 6pm to 9pm on Saturday or Friday) in order to complete
a workshop earlier on the last day?

6. What aspects of current workshop scheduling are problematic for you?
(cancellations aside)

Thank you for your time,

Trevor Banks
