MUSEUM CO-ORDINATOR

COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION / CULTURE AND HERITAGE DIVISION, CITY OF
PETERBOROUGH (Ontario, Canada)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Peterborough Centennial Museum and Archives (PCMA) is currently
seeking a flexible, energetic person to fill the following permanent
position of Museum Co-ordinator.

Directly responsible to the Manager of Culture and Heritage, the Museum
Co-ordinator will manage and direct the day to day operations of the
PCMA. Develop and manage staff. Assist in the development of
administration and special project budgets. Develop and enhance the
PCMA's financial performance. Promote the PCMA to the community. Prepare
agenda for Culture and Heritage Board. Attend meetings and sit on
Board/Staff committees as required. Administer and supervise maintenance
of facilities, grounds, physical plant and equipment. Assist in the
development of operational and special project plans.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS TRAINING

Requires an individual who has: a University Honours Degree in History
or related field; formal museum training preferred; proven curatorial
and museum management skills; strong interpersonal and communications
skills and leadership ability; ability to work with minimum supervision
and direction; a working knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and
database applications; requires a minimum of 3 years experience
including supervisory experience.

SALARY RANGE

$49,403  -  $53,990
