Hi everyone: At the Region of Peel we are resurrecting a Workplace Health
Promotion group which was on a hiatus while we did a little restructuring
within our Health Department. One of the first items on the new workplan is
to investigate the feasibility and/or usefulness of hiring a consultant with
expertise in business systems and management, in order to help us plan our
strategic directions for workplace health promotion.

We felt that we would have greater success in engaging local companies and
businesses in workplace health promotion activities if our planning approach
was a) lead by an individual with business expertise and background; b)
based on sound business approaches; and c) developed in conjunction with
business stakeholders. Among the consultants duties would be conducting
focus groups and key informant interviews, facilitating connections between
these groups and Peel Health, guiding our strategic thinking from a business
perspective, and involving stakeholders in the planning and implementation
of workplace health promotion programs.

Is there anyone out there who has used a consultant for similar purposes or
who might have some useful information or advice for us with respect to this
endeavour? Please email at the address below. All responses will be much
appreciated!
