They no doubt have debts, and a still-active non-profit that could help them out. Gotta admire them for trying!

Incline Village is in Nevada, which no realistic public subsidy program for lit and arts or museum programs, so survival for non-profits depends on kindness of strangers and close friends.

Any loss of a Twain (or other) author/artist/museum/center is a crime against civilization, to me.

(INCLINE, BTW, is a great place, that even holds annual Native American Pow-Wows, which are honest and fun, I think every year. Twain would have attended.
