Hello AAO Listserv members,

The City Archives in Peterborough (Ont.) is currently negotiating the
transfer of important archival records generated by the Peterborough
County Board of Education (e.g. Board minute books, school minute books,
letterbooks, school architectural plans, photographs, etc) ranging in
dates from the mid 19th century to about 1950.

Have other Ontario archival repositories acquired similar board records
in recent years?

If so, were specific transfer or donation agreements drawn up by the
parties involved?

And if so, could you please fax a copy to us at: 705-743-2614 ?

Are there any elements of the Ontario Education Act that might prevent
the transfer or outright donation of board records to a public archival
institutions? (I'm not aware of any).

Any assistance would be great appreciated - thanks very much !

Jim Leonard
