What I have learned from the batch of history of economic thought papers 
I just finished grading: 
 
1.  Milton Friedman won the Nobel Peace Prize in Economics, and 
 
2.  Adam Smith's first published work was the Theory of Moral Sediments.   
  
Both of these nuggests should open up interesting new avenues of 
research!
