================ HES POSTING ========================

The next message posted to the list will be a new "guest editorial" in
the HES series. This one is "The Talk of the Town in 1798," by Henk
Plasmeijer. Given the current reappraisal of Malthus under way (see Sam
Hollander's new book on Malthus and _Riches and Poverty_, by Donald
Winch), Plasmeijer's contribution should be of interest to many on the
list.

Plasmeijer's editorial is available on the web at
http://www.eh.net/HisEcSoc/Resources/Editorials/Plasmeijer
where you will also find an accompanying diagram. Discussion of the
editorial will be added to that site, as well as in the regular HES list
archive.

I am seeking more editorials, and would welcome recommendations
(including self-nominations!) from members of the list.
