The Economics Department at Duke, and the John Hope Franklin Center
at Duke, will jointly award one postdoctoral fellowship to a recent
Ph.D for academic year 2001-2002. The Fellow's research program will
involve participation in "The New Beginnings Program" at Duke's John
Hope Franklin Center, in its 2001-2002 program on Science, Culture,
and Society. The Fellow will also teach two undergraduate courses in
the Economics Department over the year (one each semester).

Professor E. Roy Weintraub will supervise the individual's work
during the year in an area connected to both Science and Technology
Studies and Economics, although the connections can be constructed in
various ways.

The Fellowship will pay US$ 35,000 plus standard Duke benefits
(health, etc.) for the academic year.

Please email Professor Weintraub at <[log in to unmask]> for details on the
application procedure, and selection process. The application
deadline is March 22, 2001.
