----------------- HES POSTING -----------------
Dear colleagues,

I would like to compile a list of instances before 1917 where Western
economists had connection with St Petersburg, Russia, such as residence in
(or maybe a brief visit to) the city, personal relationships, etc. The
cases that immediately come to mind are those of Bernoulli, Tooke and
Storch (the latter might be considered "Western", even though he came from
a province incorporated in the Russian Empire), but there must be more. I
would appreciate any additions to the list.
