1. is there any secondary literature about this visit?

A forthcoming publication of the Department of Economics, Universite
di Roma, La Sapienza, (Economists in Cambridge. The letters among
Keynes, Kahn, Kaldor, Robinson, Harrod, Hayek e Sraffa, 1921-1946,
ed. by M.C. Marcuzzo) may be of interest. It presents the lists of
the letters for each pair of the above mentioned economists (about
2000 letters), accompanied by short essays on their contents, written
by D. Besomi, B. Ingrao, M.C. Marcuzzo, F. Ranchetti, A. Rosselli, C.
Sardoni. The publication is in English and it will be available (on
request) by the end of the year.
Kahn's visit to the States is recorded in his letters to Keynes,
Joan Robinson and Sraffa.

>2. are there any other letters etc?

There are about 15 letters between Keynes and Kahn when the latter
was in the States (from December 1932 to April 1933)

>3. Kahn referred to someone as "bric-a-brac" in one of the letters. Does
>anyone know who this is?

 A friend of Keynes, Breckinridge

>4. In 1932 Kahn wrote an essay on 'imperfect competition and the marginal
>principle' which the QJE rejected. Was this ever published?

In Italian, in a collection of Essays by R.F. Kahn, edited by M.C.
Marcuzzo (Il Mulino , Bologna 1999).
