Just to set the record straight, there were numerous Mark Twain vocal
recordings made from about the early 1890's thru at least 1907, one was
destroyed by fire, one melted in an attic, and a trunk full of Twain's voice
was taken from in front of his New York City residence by forces unknown. No
one knows precisely how many Twain vocal recordings were ever made, and no
examples of his voice have surfaced since his death. However, there is still
a chance one (or more) of the recordings may surface because important
previously "unknown" Mark Twain material happens to turn up quite a bit more
often than most people imagine.
