----------------- HES POSTING -----------------
As you may know from HES postings, HOPE published a paper by Melvin
W. Reder titled "The Anti-Semitism of Some Eminent Economists" in 32,
4 (Winter 2000): 833-856. Because of the controversy over HOPE's
publication of Reder's piece, HES readers may wish to know that HOPE
will publish a "Comment" by Ronald Hamowy, and Reder's "Reply", in a
forthcoming issue.

Because this topic seems to be both of interest to historians, and
under-researched, HOPE invites contributions to a Mini-Symposium to
appear probably late in 2002 or early in 2003 on the topic "Racial,
Religious, Ethnic, and Gender Prejudices in the History of
Economics". Please send paper proposals (200-500 words) to me as
Associate Editor, HOPE, Box 90097, Duke University, DUrham NC, 27708-
 0097, by September 15, 2001.
