----------------- HES POSTING -----------------
Not specifically discourse theory, but rather a Foucauldian excavation of "political
economy"; cf., Denis Meuret, 'A Political Genealogy of Political Economy', _Economy and
Society_, volume 17, number 2, May, 1988. Also, 'Theatrum politicum: The genealogy of
capital - police and the state of prosperity', by Pasquale Pasquino, in Burchill, Gordon,
and Miller (eds), _The Foucault Effect_. Foucault's own paper, "Governmentality", in the
same book, is an important contribution, as is Colin Gordon's general introduction. Other
papers there are relevant, as are some in the recent _Foucault and Political Reason_,
edited by Barry, Osborne and Rose.
