Being new here, I don't do this
 very often, I can say I feel at home listening to all the Twain thoughts posted here... it's hard to explain to anyone how much this fellow 's words have meant to me, but I believe they wouldn't be lost here...I post this because I found a quote by him that I sadly enjoy.... " I have been reading the morning paper. I do it every morning-well knowing that I shall find in it the usual depravities & basenesses & hypocrisies & cruelties that make civilization, & cause me to put in the rest of the day pleading for the damnation of the human race. I cannot seem to get my prays answered. Yet I do not despair."  Mark Twain, letter to his friend Howells.
No other writer has made me laugh like Twain does, but he can make me want to cry too...more than glad this forum is here.....
