CALL FOR PROPOSALS-- 20TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR
DOCUMENTARY EDITING

The program committee for the 1998 annual meeting of the Association for
Documentary Editing invites proposals for papers, panels, demonstrations,
and other activities. The meeting, which will be held in St. Louis,
Missouri, on October 8, 9, and 10, 1998, marks the twentieth anniversary of
the founding of the ADE.

To commemorate the founding of the ADE, the program committee especially
solicits proposals reflecting upon the history of the association or of
documentary editing during the past twenty years, or addressing the future
of documentary editing and editors.

The committee also welcomes proposals not directly linked to the
anniversary.

Proposals should include a brief description of each paper (or other form
of presentation), as well as the name, mailing address, telephone number,
e-mail address, and institutional affiliation of each participant.
Proposals for individual papers will be accepted, but those for complete
(or nearly complete) sessions are encouraged. If asked to do so, the
committee will be happy to suggest appropriate commentators and session
chairs.

Proposals should be received no later than February 1, 1998, but earlier
communication will be appreciated. Send proposals to the program committee
chair: Leslie Rowland, Department of History, University of Maryland,
College Park MD 20742. Direct any questions or other inquiries to the same
address or, via e-mail, to [log in to unmask]
