I certainly agree with the sentiments and suggestions.  While I generally 
prefer for us to do our work as best we can and not worry about such  
large-scale developments, I am responsive to the considerations motivating  
the letter, especially matters  of positions for historians of economic  
thought, exposure to our field in the training of economists, opportunities 
for joint work with field practitioners, and so on.
